SEIU Pennsylvania congratulates President Barack Obama

SEIU Pennsylvania members came out in full force to support Barack Obama for President.

“This was one of the most important presidential elections workers have faced in a long time,” said Eileen Connelly, Executive Director of the SEIU PA State Council. “Families are struggling, we are spending billions on an unjust war, and a majority of Americans are now worried that their children will be worse off than they are. Barack Obama offered a vision for change in this country, a plan to create the new American Dream, and real hope for a bright future for our children.  And working people responded to his message in a big way.”

SEIU members hit the streets, knocking on doors and making phone calls to spread Obama’s message of real change for working people. Lori Reinhart, an SEIU Healthcare PA member and Berks County nursing home worker, is one of those members.

“Everyday my residents depend on me to provide the care they can’t provide themselves. But with the costs of everything from food to gas going up, it’s getting harder and harder to support my own family. I know that by electing Barack Obama, we will have a president who will stand up for health care workers like me so we can keep our communities healthy and earn paychecks that support our families,” said Reinhart.
