HARRISBURG, Oct. 29, 2015 – The Pennsylvania State Council of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) has endorsed Alice Dubow for Pennsylvania Superior Court. One seat is open on the court, which handles criminal and civil appeals from county courts.
This statement is attributable to Gabe Morgan, SEIU Pennsylvania State Council President and Pennsylvania Director of SEIU 32BJ, Neal Bisno, Secretary-Treasurer of the State Council and President of SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania, Tom Herman, President of SEIU Local 668, and David Melman, Manager of the PA Joint Board of Workers United.
“Pennsylvania needs judges on Superior Court with the wisdom and integrity to protect the rights of hardworking men and women. In this race, it is clear that Alice Dubow has the experience and passion for equal justice that working families need on Superior Court.
“Judge Dubow is the granddaughter of an immigrant and union member. As a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, she has a distinguished legal career and now serves on the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. She is recommended by the Pennsylvania Bar Association and has a strong record of working to protect children and providing free legal assistance to those in need.
“Working families need Judge Debow on Superior Court and SEIU is proud to support her in the November 3rd election.”
Judge Alice Dubow added: “It is my great honor to receive the endorsement of SEIU State Council. As I enter the final stretch of the campaign, I’m energized and also humbled by the support of an organization that represents tens of thousands of hard working Pennsylvanians.”
SEIU PA is also supporting Judges Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty and David Wecht in the election for Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and Michael Wojcik for Commonwealth Court.
